Audience Acceptance of Stereo 3D and Low Budget Case Study

The HFF is part of the consortium of the research project PRIME (PRoduction- and Projection-Techniques for Immersive MEdia). The artistic and technological knowledge of the HFF is combined in a unique way with the research capacity of the university. The Department of Media Studies examines the acceptance and appraisal of 3D applications within the population, the difference of perception between 2D and 3D content and furthermore the impact of 3D film screening on children.
HFF's first film produced in stereo will be shown at INSIGHT OUT 2010 for the first time. The team employed a special 3D concept to emphasise the multi-layered story. The Media Sciences Department will use this in-house production as part of the reception studies to analyse the reaction of the audience to stereo viewing.
