Digital 3D Production and Financing for Independent Producers

 Prof. Martin Hagemann will talk about the financial and organizational aspects of digital production and the effects of stereo 3D production on the preparation processes. With "Avatar" 3D on the agenda of every film-producer, soon it will be a topic for TV producers as well. What does that mean for smaller independent production companies? After presenting a 3D teaser during this year's Berlinale with a view to raising finance to produce the 3D feature later this year, first experiences on budgeting, producing and financing questions concerning 3D will be shared.  



About Prof. Martin Hagemann
Martin Hagemann produces in his own independent company zero fiction film since 1990 mainly for the international cinema market. He has worked with directors like Aleksandr Sokurov, Roger Spottiswoode, Jan Schuette, Didi Danquart, Kutlug Ataman, Peter Bogdanovich and Hal Hartley. In 2010 zero fiction film is postproducing films of Aram Shahbazyan in Armenia and Belá Tarr in Hungary and will shoot a pilot for the RTL TV-Series "Kidnapped". Martin Hagemann is currently developing and financing a co-production with Dan Films in London, the planned Sci-Fi Thriller "Creeping Zero" will be shot in 3D later this year. He is teaching Film- and TV-Production at the film school HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg and he is member of the board of the German Producer's Alliance and of AG DOK and member of the government's advisory board for the German Film Fund DFFF.
